I have a 1996 saurn sc2 it has a few problems the biggest is it won't start easy when it is cold after it warms up it starts fine, the other is the heat gauge goes imediatly to right and stays there took plug off of sensor then it goes half way car not even hot yet then the coolant level light comes on.

Is the connector to the coolant temp sensor corroded is the inside of the connector terminals blue or green. Sounds like a bad coolant temp sensor there only 10 and go bad all the time and leak into the connector corroding them. Also inspect the wires to the sensor are they shorted any where?
