Clunking/Knocking noise

I have a 96 ford explorer, V8, AWD. Its making a knocking/clunking noise. I hear the noise when Im at a complete stop and I have to take off. Sometimes when I back up I also hear it or when I turn, a sharp turn. Ive been told it might be the U joints, the cv joints or the driveline?
