Get the new switch and look at it. You have to release the switch from the pedal assembly and install the new one.

Here is directions.

STOPLAMP SWITCH

Removal & Installation

Disconnect negative battery removal. Remove retainer clip from brake pedal pin. Remove switch by unsnapping from pushrod. Remove electrical connector from switch. To install, reverse removal procedure.

That's an awful lot of information to wade through. Have you checked for blown fuses and burned-out light bulbs?

Well first thought is brake switch needs to supply voltage to shift interlock. Should be four wires check adjustment see that switch is closed when brake pedal applied.

The switch is located at the top of the brake pedal. It is held on with a retaining clip.

Found this info, anything else, I'd have to look at it. If you already have the new switch, may have instructions?

It is attached to the brake pedal under the dash and has a clip that holds it on. You remove the clip and replace the switch and replace the clip. Make sure you buy a new clip.
