Most of the time my car cranks up fine. But more often now when I turn the key to start car nothing happens, except radio and dash board lights work fine. The starter doesnot turn or make a sound not even a click. Wait a while 15 - 20 mins car cranks up fine. What would cause this?

Is the security lite on or flashing, when it refuses to crank? The purple wire at the starter solenoid S terminal, should be hot with key in the crank position. Any testing make sure the tranny is in park or neutral and the e-brake is set.

The first thing I would do is have the battery tested and make sure the battery cable's are clean and tight. When the starter is inop is there a security light on or flashing on the dash?
