Have strong exhaust odor from 95 jeep cherokee

If it is entering the cabin, have the full exhaust system inspected for any leaks, this is a dangerous condition as these fumes can be noxious and cause drowsiness while driving.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for answer. I can smell the exhaust while driving but may be from the outside. Have had the full exhaust system checked by 3 mechanics. Had seals to exhaust manifold replaced and small leak in exhaust pipe repaired. After all this, the problem is still there. The last exhaust mechanic said it must be something from the engine that needs repairing and to take to mechanic.

Make sure that there is no fluid leaks onto the exhaust, also you may be picking up fumes from other cars with the outside air on, if you are in slow traffic this is common.
