This sounds like a fuel pump or the fuel pump relay has gone out. When you turn the key to the on position without cranking the engine over can you hear the fuel pump run in the tank for 5 seconds?

Dual tanks no longer getting fuel to rail. Obviously the fuel pump is whats cooling back down after a few hours and allowing it to start. But, fuel pump is pumping it to filter but not through rail. Some kind of shut of somewhere beetween filter and schrader valve?
