1992 Cadillac Deville car won't start

I have a 1992 cadillac deville. I test drove it today and it started just fineknow. I started tonight 3 times. I got to walmart and looked around in there to shop. When I came out and tried to start it it would not start. My dad came out their and tried to jump it it would not start. When I checked the error codes it came up with f.8.5. I don't know what that means. When the guy got there to tow it I saw it had been hit on the left quarter pannel. I don't know what is wrong with it. If you have any advice please let me know. Thank you.

When it doesn't start, check to see if you are getting spark and fuel to the engine. One will be missing and you will be able to focus on the right components

I can smell gas when I try to start it coming out of the tail pipe. I don't see the fuel filter on the car. I seen it not to long ago. But when I try to start it says I have 13 gallons in it. I also tried to charge the battery yesterday. It charged and I tried to start it three times and it would not start. When I put thecharger back on it the battery was dead. I also sprayed ether in the carberator and it still would not start.
