1991 Mitsubishi Galant no start

I got 1991 Mitsubishi galant I have spark fuel pressure timing belt and timing is good takes me about 30 minutes to get it to start and when it does start blows black smoke out tail pipe I also check compression and its good any help will b appreciated thank u

Check your fuel pressure with a gauge auto parts rent it.

I did I got 40 psi I think that's what it calls for

Check mpi power relay and transistor for coil, it also may be your etacs unit. Check resistance of coolant temp sensor should be 2500 ohms at 68 degrees and 300 at 176 degrees. Fuel pressure should be 38 w/vacuum connected and 47-40 with out. Next time say what engine it is sohc/dohc or turbo

2.0 dohc ok I think my old fuel pressure tester is bad got new one and showing me 80 psi running
vacuum line disconnected 88 could b a bad regulator or fuel pump seems like a lot

Return line is good car is on right now reading 80 psi still and just lots of black smoke out tail pipe

Just put new fuel pressure regulator pressure is good but now as soon as I shut the car off pressure drops to 0 any help would b great thank u
