I purchased this car 4 years ago with less than 300 miles on it. Came out of environmentally controlled storage after 30 plus years. Everything is now working on the car except the A/C. I want to convert it to R134A (from R12), charge it up and see if it works. I purchased one of those DIY kits, have located the two ports but have no idea which is the High side or the Low side. Can you help me locate the High Side where you inject the Freon? Thank you

You never put Freon inon the high side. Always the low side. The high side port shold be between the condenser and evaporator on the smaller line.

YOU MIGHT WANNA CONSULT WITH SOME LOCAL AUTOMOTIVE A/C GUYS--EVEN LOOK AT SEVERAL (LOTS) OF YOU TUBE VIDEOS ON HOW THIS PROCESS CAN BE DONE SUCCESSFULLY AND HAVE YOU GRINNING WHEN YOU ARE DONE.

THIS MAY BE A LOT ON YOUR PLATE. HAVING A POPULAR CAR LIKE THAT YOU DON'T WANNA MESS THINGS UP.

IT'S NOT JUST SCREWING ON THE ADAPTERS AND SHOOTING THE GAS IN. YOU MAY NEED TO FLUSH THE SYSTEM AND COMPLETELY REPLACE THE OIL IN THE SYSTEM NOW, WITH THE CORRECT OIL COMPATIBLE WITH THE R-134.

MAY BE A JOB FOR A REPUTABLE AUTO A/C GUY, WHO KNOWS THE INS AND OUTS?

KEEP US POSTED ON YOUR PROGRESS, I'M SURE SOMEONE ELSE HERE WILL JUMP IN WITH ANOTHER ANSWER FOR YOU

THE MORE INFO TO GO ON- THE MERRIER!

ALMOST FORGOT

THAT'S A LOT OF STORAGE IDLE TIME- TIME WORKS ON RUBBER

YOU MAY NEED TO REPLACE ALL OF THE "O" RINGS, AND PULL A GOOD VACUUM ON THE SYSTEM PRIOR TO INSTALLING THE GAS
