I am looking at purchasing a Vette with a 454ci and I would like to know how to perform the compression test, but more importantly what are the readings that are considered an acceptable range?

Hi there,
you will need to do a comp test hot, and check each cylinder with a strong battery and make sure the throttle is fully open. As for the readings you will want to be getting mid 150's PSI with a max tolerance of about 10% high to low readings, If all the readings are a bit lower and even that will be ok as well.
