When I am driving the car jerks and just loses power. I put it in neutral and turn it off and restart it and I go again. Sometimes I will drive a mile and it will happen again and other times I will drive 10 miles before it happens. Occasionally I have a backfire. I have had the timing done the carby cleaned, it has me plugs and distributor cap. It only started happening after I filled up at a different servo than normal. Dirty fuel? Can points do this?

Thanks
Terry

Stromburg carby will not like dirty fuel, get it cleaned out and replace the fuel filter, if you have the old style fuel pump with the glass bowl, there is a filter screen in there as well. clean it out.
