Water leaking

Leaking water from what I assume is the water pump I put coolant in as soon as I start it it starts leaking out

First, take a look through this link. It discusses water pump issues and how to check one.

If the pump is bad, here are general directions for replacement.

If you find it is not the water pump, here is a link that shows how to find and repair a coolant leak. Since the coolant leaks out so quickly, I do not see the need for a pressure test.

Let me know if that helps. If you find the pump does need replaced, let me know if this is for a 3.0L or 4.0L V6 engine so I can provide specific directions.

In addition, if you have to drain the coolant to replace the pump, consider replacing old hoses, the thermostat, and it is a good time to flush the system. It is easier to do it at this point because if something fails, you have to drain the coolant all over again.
