Hello,

There could be a number of reasons why engines will stall when put in gear.
It could be a vacuum leak, weak fuel pump, faulty idle air control valve, faulty throttle sensor, blocked filter, faulty catalytic converter etc.

I would like to know a bit more details of the symptoms.

Can you tell me little more details of what you have been experiencing?
Is this something that just happened without any warning?

Is the check engine light illuminated? If so, do you know the codes?

Let me know what has been happening.
Thank you.

Good afternoon,

There are a couple of possibilities for this.

1. Throttle body dirty and cannot maintain and idle. You need to clean the plate of all carbon deposits, so the vacuum passages are clean.

2. Bad torque converter in the transmission. When the transmission torque converter is locked up, it will stall the engine when it goes into gear.

I would start by changing the fluid and looking for any metal in the pan.
