You would need a scan tool that can read live transmission data or take it somewhere to have it looked at. Aside from guessing I need data/info. That's the next thing and would have been the first thing I would have looked at if I had the car.

You would have to shop around new probably 500- 600 for a cheap one. Used you find one for 200 or less if look on ebay and are lucky.

I think I found the problem but I cant be sure it works when it wants to but the switch I had on the trans was dirty on the inside but I cleaned it and seems to be working ok also the ground wire is off is that bad

Yes that single ground wire needs to be hooked up. So it works since you cleaned the mounting surface?

It works when it wants to I can drive it for maybe 3 miles and it starts back with the same problems I dont know anymore

If it's broken you should just replace it.
