2001 Saturn SL2 Cant get out of park

When I got in my car to drive it, I started it up and it wouldnt let me get out of park. I usually push on the brake and hear a click noise then go into drive but now I get in and dont hear a thing and it stays locked in the park position. But it does let me go into neutural and start it that way with no problems.

Any idea's what it might be?

Check to see if the brake lights are working. The click you normally hear is the solenoid unlocking the shifter, since you dont hear it, the problem will either be the brake light switch that activates the solenoid or the solenoid itself. Also check all fuses with a test light, but if there are no brake lights, the brake light switch is most likely the problem
