Engine revved to 6,000 RPMs, all dash lights turned on and the car shut off?

When driving, I attempted to pass a vehicle. Car revved up to 6,000 RPMs and then all lights came on dash and car shut off. Coasted to a stop, attempted to cycle ignition to restart, and had click and tried to turn it over but quickly lost power as if the battery was draining. Replaced alternator and battery tested good. Even while jumping, when starting it draws down the battery power and tries to crank but no turnover. Interior lights flicker when trying to crank.

I would recheck the battery because this sounds like the battery has an internal short. Also, we should run the codes to see if any come up. Also, check the battery cable connections. If you can upload a short video of what the car is doing, I can tell for sure what's going on.

I will see about a video when I can get to it next. But there were no codes which I found odd since I had dash lights come on at the time.

It does sound like a connection problem, I would recheck the battery because an internal problem can come and go with batteries.

The second test came back as a bad battery, so I replaced it. It resolved the lights flickering and draining issue. However, I still cannot start. You can hear where it stops and grabs. My thought is 1) if the camshaft position sensor isn’t letting a full rotation? 2) the engine is locked up 3) the starter is coincidentally bad. Thoughts?

Thanks for the video. I would remove the spark plug and then crank the engine over to see if coolant had filled one of the cylinders. When you crank the engine over stand back in case coolant shoots from the engine spark plug hole. If okay, I would replace the starter.

Here is how to change out the starter in case you need it. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
