Six cylinder front wheel drive automatic.

Windshield washer pump stopped working so I changed it. Still did not work, so I tested for voltage at the pump and had none. Is this a prob at the switch in the blinker?

If you have already replaced the windshield washer pump in your 2006 Chevrolet Impala and tested for voltage at the pump with no power present, it's possible that the issue lies with the switch or a related component.

In many vehicles, including the Chevrolet Impala, the windshield washer switch is typically integrated into the multifunction switch assembly, which is located on the steering column and also controls functions such as the turn signals and high beams.

Here are a few steps you can take to further diagnose the problem:

Check the fuse: Locate the fuse box and check the fuse related to the windshield washer pump. Refer to the vehicle's manual or the fuse box cover for the exact location and identification of the fuse. If the fuse is blown, replace it with a new one of the same amperage rating. Test the washer pump again to see if it now receives power.

Inspect the wiring: Inspect the wiring harness that connects to the windshield washer pump for any signs of damage, loose connections, or corrosion. Repair or replace any damaged wiring as necessary.

Test the multifunction switch: Since the windshield washer switch is integrated into the multifunction switch assembly, it's possible that the switch itself is faulty. To test it, you may need a multimeter to check for continuity and proper operation of the switch. If the switch is determined to be faulty, it will need to be replaced.

Okay, will need to test a few things to find the culprit. Disconnect the body control module (BCM, located left of steering column) connector C1 (pink wire). Then install a fused jumper between the battery positive voltage and the washer pump control circuit. Let me know if the pump operates this way. It should since the pump is new unless the wiring is bad. After this test, disconnect the washer/wiper switch. Install a jumper between the washer switch signal circuit and ground. Turn the ignition to the "on" position. Does the washer pump work now?

Good morning,

I attached a diagram for you to view.

The washers are controlled by a relay. The relay is operated by the body control module based on a signal from the washer switch input.

You need to test the fuse in the circuit for power on both sides while someone commands the pump to work.
