Hey guys, so I have the car listed above z28 and in the last 2 months I haven't been able to get it running right. Around 2 months ago I had just started it and I let it warm up I was pulling away when it just stopped. No check engine lights or anything. After that it wouldn't run for a while but I can get it running for around 5 -10 minutes idling and then it will just shut off. Also it wont just turn right back over after that, it takes some time for it to run again. So I figured a fuel issue. I changed the inline filter and the fuel pump started it and it sounded way better but still shut off after a couple of minutes. I am guessing it's not the fuel regulator because they usually don't go bad. I really need help. I am stumped and I don't want to poor tons of money into it. I don't want to be just guessing and getting rid of parts that still work.
So if you guys have any ideas please let me know. I miss my speed wagon.
Also everything is basically stock it is not leaking or anything either no oil marks.

Hi,

There is a chance the ignition control module is going bad (or is bad). The ICM is located under the coils. Do me a favor. Check to see if you lose spark when it won't run. These modules can be affected by heat and fail. Then, you have to wait until they cool off to work again. If this is the issue, you won't have spark to the plugs when it won't start. I attached two pics below. Pic 1 is from the wiring schematic and in pic 2, I highlighted the control module.

Here is a link that explains how to check for spark:

Try this and let me know if there is no spark. Also, if there isn't, most parts stores can check the module for you.

Let me know what you find.

Joe
