It has a new starter, new alternator, new plugs and wires, also a new fuel pump and filter.

Hi,

How would you best describe what happens? For example, does it start and stall right away? How long will it run? Does it start right back up?

Let me know what is happening so I can narrow things down.

Take care,

Joe

It will start if you spray starter fluid in the carburetor, but then runs for about 5 seconds and then shuts off.

Have you checked the fuel pressure to make sure the pump is working? If not, do that first.

Here is a link showing how it's done:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-fuel-system-pressure-and-regulator

If you look at pic 1 below, it provided the manufacturer's fuel pressure specifications.

If that is good, confirm the ECM 1 fuse in the fuse box under the hood is good. See pic 2. In addition to checking the fuse, confirm there is power to it.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-a-car-fuse

If that checks good, I need you to locate the injector wiring harness. All fuel injectors should have 12v when the key is on via a pink wire. See pic 2. Check to see if that is the case. If it is, we need to see if the PCM is providing a ground path to complete the circuit for each injector.

If you notice, each injector has two wires, one is pink and the other is a different color as seen in pic 2. Disconnect the harness. Using a test light, connect one end to the battery positive and probe the ground wire at each injector. Have a helper crank the engine. The light should strobe on and off.

See if that happens.

Let me know. Also, let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
