So I can't start the car unless I'm jumped and once I remove the jumper cables a few minutes later it shuts off. The battery is a year old and was at 12.13 volts when I checked. Also I just replaced the alternator last month, checked all the fuses and I can't figure out where the problem is. I guess you could say I'm stumped and stuck. Please any ideas would be greatly appreciated at this point. Thank you

When you tested the battery did you do what is called a load test?

If you just checked voltage on the battery, it can show good voltage but it can't carry a load which is why it will only start with a jump and keep running with a jump because you are basically just running off the other battery.

I suspect the battery is the issue so just stop by a parts store or take the battery into the store and they can load test it. If it is newer then it may be covered under the battery warranty depending on what this is. If you contact the supplier or battery manufacturer they can tell you more info about that.

Let me know what you find. Thanks
