Bought truck 3 months ago tranny when out on way home..had towed to house husband changed transmission 4 times..every time its a different issue.. But tranny last for few days then goes out..this last time only had reverse.Husband took all transmissions laying around with truck and rebuilt one..now with the one he rebuilt it goes from park to neutral to reverse..you can feel it kick into those gears.. And idle adjust.. But drive..1st ..and 2nd..no kick no go.. If you jackup rear end and have someone give gas in drive and someone spin tire the pull tire spins ..you got to get it started.. He disconnected emergency park brake cause it was in a bine.. And it started spinning on own..dropped the truck off jack no pull forward..but reverse good.. Also I don't know if this matters but got a driverside electrical issue.. Power windows work sometime. If you wiggle wiring between door jam and body it will work..and when truck is off..in park interior lighting goes on and off by its self with clicking from relay in fuse panal driver side..replaced that..still does same thing and locks doors on own..only way to stop is put key I'm door and lock it.. Truck spends more time sitting looking pretty as yard decoration than it does anything else.. Please help us fix this headache.. I promised the law officials.. I would fix truck and not drive in reverse anymore..lol.. My truck is a 1997 ford f150 extended cab 4x4 .. 8 cylinder.. With a 4.6 engine .. And a 4r70w transmission... Transfer case is a Borgs Wagner ... The truck has the w in the vin.. From r some reason that is important to parts store

first thing you have to do is scan for codes to see if there are any it may be feasible to have a pro do it as auto parts can't get all the codes. then make sure trans range sensor is adjusted correctly also look for a wiring issue at trans like poor connections you might try using dielectric grease at trans connector for harness. it could be a tcm problem as well though
