Why is my driver's side not locking and unlocking the others?

When I pull up/push down on the driver side door lock knob, it should lock/unlock the other doors (according to the manual). However, mine does not. I've already tested the ETWIS and both the front door key cylinder connectors.

So, if the door switch is not unlocking any of the doors, then we need to go to the ETWIS and check to see if the switch is giving the input to the module.

Here are a couple guides that will help with this:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/door-panel-removal

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-wiring

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-use-a-voltmeter

I am attaching the diagram below but if the switch is working and sending voltage to the module then we will need to check the output voltage, but I suspect the module will be the issue.

However, if you say you already checked the module this way then the switch or wiring would be the likely cause.

Let's start with this and go from there.

Thanks

Okay, I fixed it but I'm going to explain it here for anyone else who may have this problem.

So it turned out to be my door lock actuator in the driver side front door. The door lock actuator gets power from the ETWIS and it, in turn, sends the signal for whether the lock is up or down via continuity check. What really tipped me off is the behavior it exhibited when I unplugged it. It was almost as if continuity was restored for a brief moment, activating the power locks.

This was interesting. I'm still on the road to get the theft deterrent working again. The only thing I need to replace now is the hood switch. Another time, another place.

Great info. Thanks so much for coming back and updating us. Not only was this interesting but that will surely help others in the future that have a similar issue.

Thanks again.
