Was driving home and noticed engine overheating. Let cool and filled it back up. Made it three miles and it was empty again. What could cause such a rapid leak?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

That big of a loss should be obvious. When you refill the system, do you hear it drain out? Is there steam coming from the engine? Also, check the engine oil level to make sure it is not going there. If you look under the hood, is anything wet?

Here is a leak that shows how to find a leak. However, since you are losing it so quickly, it should be easy to find.

Take a look through that and let me know what you find. It could be many different things, but again, if you can just let me know the area it is coming from, I should be able to help you find it.

Take care,
Joe
