When adding oil to my car a half bottle of oil that I think was a blend for weed-eater was also used. After a few days car started to run rough and was trying to cut out. I checked the oil and there was a yellow foam substance in my oil cap. I took it and got the oil changed in car but it didn't help. Motor was still running rough and when idling it would sputter out and shut off. I have to keep my foot on gas and brake while stopped to keep it from shutting off. While in drive it barley noticeable but when braking or stopped it is bad. Did I damage my car?

Hello,

I don't think one has to do the other. The yellow on the oil cap is oil mixed with coolant/water which leads to me to believe that you might have a blown head gasket. There are a couple of different tests for this and I would recommend that you do one them. I have included links below to both procedures below.

Please go through these guides and get back to us with what you are able to find out.

Thanks,
