Any coincidence or separate? Could it be something as simple as adding brake fluid or changing brake pads? I don't want to take it back to dealership for something simple unless it was their fault.

Hello,

This may not be related to the airbag recall.
The ABS and ESC light gets triggered when the on-board diagnostics detects any fault within any of the components of that system. It could be any number of sensors, or module.
The best course of action would be to scan and retrieve the code(s). It can help with the diagnostics.

Here is a helpful guide:

Let me know of any questions.
Thank you.

Thank you for the info, but I’m disabled and would need to take it in. Might I ask what is a fair price a mechanic may charge without taking it to a dealership?

For just the code read, you should be able to take it to your local auto parts store and have them scan for the ABS codes. They will do that free of charge. I would suggest calling them and making sure that they do have a scanner available that can scan ABS codes.
