1992 Volvo 940 smoke emition

My 940 is aturbo diesel straight 6 vw/audi engine. How do I prevent the cloud of black smoke when I accelerate. Must I change the turbo and have you any tips about these engines?

Hi there,

This is a sign that the injectors are due for servicing, this will have to be done by a diesel work shop as there is special tooling required, also replace the fuel & air filters.
