1986 Volvo 240 stalling

Engine quits for no reason while driving. Some times
it will start back up, (after sitting) or turn key several times on & off to start again.

Start your car. Pop your hood &see the wire that leads from the center of your distribuator cap. Follow that up. On my 87 240 its on the right side. There are a few wires. Move them. Did the car cut off? If so. Its just a loose wire. Same thing happened to me.

Or if you are low on oil the car will do the same

also take your distribuator cap off & see if its wet inside. Easy to replace. Bout 8.00 & if you do that change the rotor cap also.
