Wont start

I have a 1997 jetta and when it rains or even very humid, it just wont start. Any other time it runs beautifully. If I have been driving it, and it rains, it will start fine. It only seems to bother it after sitting for long periods of time, such as overnite.

First thing that comes to mind is the wiring for spark. I think that vehicle has a dist and regardless, a bit of silicone sealant around the plug wire connections could help.
