JUST PUT IN A NEW STARTER IN MY 94 GOLF GL 2.0L AND EVERYTHING IS GOING GOOD 2MIN LATER I STOP IN A PARKING SPOT AND REV MY CAR AND THE R.P.M. GOES UP AND MY CAR IS TELLING ME THAT IM GOING 120KM SO I DO IT ONE MORE TIME AND ITS THE SAME THING. THEN THE CAR TURNS OFF AND I CANT GET IT STARTED. WHEN I DO GET IT STARTED (GET THIS) MY CAR SAYS THAT IM GOING 180KM THEN TO 120KM THEN 160KM, IT GOES NUTS! THAT GOES ON FOR ABOUT 10SEC, NOW KEEP IN MIND THAT MY CAR IS NOT MOVING. THEN IT WONT START AT ALL AND I NEED A BOOST. SOMETHING HAS TO BE WRONG OR MY CAR HAS A GHOST THAT DONT LIKE ME TO MUCH! BUT THE GHOST SOULD LIKE ME I SEND MORE MONEY ON HER THEN I DO ON MY WOMAN!

I've seen the speedometer do that same thing on a honda accord, and they had to replace the whole dash component, but it didn't have a problem starting. Just thought that might be a place to check.

Should be a speed sensor connected to tranny, might be bad
