Engine Mechanical problem
1998 Volkswagen Jetta 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

The car just cut off after drving it to the mall. My mechanic checked the coil, the wires, and the 3/6 pins and the timing belt and they are all good. Please tell me what this could be. I need this for my second car. I have tried everything even the mechanic is stumped he said this is the 2nd car he has had that has had this problem and he could not figure it out.

Without seeing the car in person, there is not much to diagnose over the interweb. It sounds like you'll need some comprehensive testing that can only be done in person.
But I do recommend finding another mechanic. Preferably one that specializes in VW/Audi.

The car is at a specialty shop for VW and Audi. The mechanic says he has never seen anything like this He recommended that I take it to the VW dealership.

I wish there was more I could do for you, but it sounds like the diagnosis is beyond internet assumptions.
But if you're tech says it's over his head, take his recommendation and try the dealer.
