1995 Volkswagen Jetta no start, no spark, no power to distr

Car has no spark, has power to the coil but no power to the distributor. Distributor does have ground. All fuses are good, cap &rotor are new. The car quit after driving into a puddle after a storm. Please help

It souinds like water got into one of your harness connectors, check as many as you can find, unplug and dry them out, look even at the connectors to the transmission.

Car has not run for 2 months been inside heated garage all connections are clean and dry

It does turn over, has a 2.0
