I was driving my vehicle and started hearing a noise and the car rolled to a stop. Got it home in reverse because it wouldn't not go in drive. Put it on jack stands found a broken emergency/parking brake. Fixed it. So as car is in the air three of four tires rolling forward backward, so I check one tire and brakes and put back together it work forward and backward. I drop the car on it wheels packed up tools go to drive it and all it does is reverse. The engine in drive but will reverse. Any ideas will greatly help.

Good morning,

If the engine is revving, then it is internal, not external.

Most likely the forward clutches are damaged in the transmission which will require removal and inspection for the failure.

Why would the wheels move when in the air but not when on the ground with weight?

Load. When it tried to move on the ground under load, the clutches slip and the truck will not go.

You will either need a rebuild or replace with a good used transmission.

If you have never done one before, it is very involved and requires special tools.

It would be better if you removed it and had someone rebuild it for you and then you can install it when it is done.

You will be doing the expensive part of the repair.
