I recently bought my vehicle from a friend who had this same problem so he change the starter and ignition switch. Power works and remotes work. You turn the key and the instrument lights light up and radio turns on, then you go to start up and nothing. No clicks, lights do not dim. What works to start though is putting pressure into the key when turning. Why is this happening?

You may have a problem with the ignition switch or the transmission range switch, the range switch stops the engine starting in drive and reverse on autos. Check for power at the small solenoid wire at the starter with the key on crank. If nothing go back to the range switch and test this. Do you have the equipment and knowledge to do this inspection?

Okay, see if he or she can do the test. Post back if you need further help.
