Hi guys, I am driving my mom's car. I am in Texas, live in a small town central to Austin, Houston, Dallas and was driving to an important meeting an odd shake and check engine light starts."blinking" on my way to Houston. I called the closest ford place while on the highway (Navasota, Texas) they claimed being very busy but I pulled to their shop anyway. They hooked up computer and come to conclusion that is was a burnt wire and plug. So they change that one spark plug out because they knew I was running late to this appointment in town and I went on my way driving fine. Two months later car is running similar but, engine light does not come on. It was tire issue. So two days later I leave my lights on and get a jump drive down the road and engine light pops on but, not blinking. I aske it to the Ford place here in my hometown so they could also put it on computer and they did gas samples and said I had probably run into some bad cheap gas. It will burn off and engine light will go off but need to change plus wires etc. What? Okay. On my way to another two hour trip, engine light does go off but when I came back, went to a friends house, sat there talking to him with car running in park and engine light comes on. Also battery light, an exclamation point with circle around it and oil light blink then it wanted to shut off, but I hit the gas pedal and everything but engine light went off. As I am leaving my friends house I see one of the mechanics from my local Ford joint at gas station because they charged me sixty bucks to say nothing was wrong before, he said bring it back I will check it again for free. This time it may be sensor. May be? Anyway one of my friends changed the spark plugs wires and fuel filter he was certain it was those issues giving me the problem including gas treatment. Etc. And it still wants to stall at lights, stops signs and even though it drives great during accelerated levels I feel little tiny jerks occasionally like fuel, despite filter change. Please 2CarPros, tell me something positive. I miss the days where I guy would say, hey man I no what the problem is! Not a guy who works on cars and highly frustrated. Sorry for the long drawn out story

Unfortunately what you want is not that easy any longer. try cleaning throttle plate on both sides and IAC hole with choke cleaner if it continues check fuel pressure with a gauge auto parts rent it. Dee link. for charging problem make sure battery terminal ends are clean and not corroded then replace belt and tensioner as both wear out and recommended replacement is 60,000 miles. if the jerky thing continued it maybe pump.
