Vehicle leaking antifreeze?

The temperature gauge read hot, and indeed it was hot, I got out to check and steam was coming from the passenger side, I guess midway down on the engine. It did this once or twice on the way home and hadn't happened since but, it still leaks water but can't find the leak and we can smell the antifreeze. Please help, no idea what the problem is and can't afford to put in the shop.

It could be a hose, radiator, gasket or water pump but to be sure please check out this guide to help point the leak so I can give you instructions on how to fix it.

You can rent a pressure checker from the auto parts store for free or cheap to help with the test. Please go over these guides and report back.

I found the leak; it was my timing belt cover gasket. Fixed it, now it's all good. Thank you so much for your response and advice.
