Low engine power

My car is an automatic car and as usual I do engage the drive, step on the gas and it starts moving as I step on the gas. Now for the last four days that has not been the case because when I step on the gas, it takes a while before it starts moving. When I step on the gas pedal harder, it starts moving slowly and when I reach a speed of about 60 to 70 km/hr it becomes okay and moves just fine. When I slow down the problem comes back. I again have to step on the gas pedal harder for it to start moving slowly. In short, it does not have the power to make it move. The engine and the gearbox are both working just fine. What could be the problem?
