Okay. Really Strange. Just went to check it again. Everything seems normal but the service light is on.

You need to retrieve the trouble code to find out what is causing the problem.

Most parts stores provides such services but do not rreplae anything first. Let us know the EXACT trouble code and we shall see what needs to be done.

Went to Autozone. Code was a p1241. They couldn't find a listing for a Mitsubishi. Hunted online and found out it is a torgue monitor? I drove nearly 60 miles(I live out in the stix). No problems. Wonder if maybe a gliche in computer and when I restarted it reset? I don't know. Just really confused right now. I assumed it had to do with trans. But the guy at that place said it actually isn't part of the transmission. So any feedback would be helpful. Thanks

P1241 = Torque Monitor.
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

Compares the actual torque signal computed from a mass air flow sensor signal with the driver demand torque signal computed from an accelerator pedal position sensor signal.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS (The most likely causes for this code to be set are:)

Throttle actuator control motor failed.
Connector damage.
Harness damage.
Intake system vacuum leak.
There is some trash around mass airflow sensor.
ECM failed

Check the wire connections etc arounf the MAF and throttle actuator.

When a problem is detected, the would trigger the MIL and go into limp mode. After restarting, the ECM would check through again and if it finds nothing wrong, the MIL would not illuminate and engine would work normally.

Since the problem did not recur, it is intermittent and you need not worry about it until it reappears.

Never found out what caused the problem. It never did it again. I traded in the car last November. Sorry I can't be more help.
