BMW sat for almost a year, changed battery to a brand new H8, AGM as the kind that was there previously (so battery will not be drained by the computer).

Key fob says recognized in instrument panel, however, vehicle will not attempt to start. All accessories appear to work (heated seats, windows, locks, mirrors, wipers, trunk release, etc)

However, when holding foot on brake, vehicle does not try to start.

Wondering if issue is connected or being hinted by iDrive. Selection menus for entertainment display AM, FM, CD, etc functions. However, will all power to vehicle, there is nothing that populates in the current "station selection" area nor will CD attempt to play a CD even though the system is accepting discs.

In the settings menu of iDrive, cannot set date or time. The options are not grayed out; however, selecting the option on the left is supposed to allow for clicking the rotary knob to change values. No values appear in their boxes. So impossible to set time or date.

Finally, in iDrive, not able to view or run any of the vehicle checks (such as coolant, oil level, etc). Options on the left are not grayed out, but no information appears on the right after the options are selected.
