I have the truck listed above dual overhead cams. Had a new head with new bolts and chin 4 months later the pin sheared causing the chain not to turn. Did this hit the valves since the timing chain failed or is there a tolerance where it will not hit the valves?

Good morning,

This has resulted in valve damage and possible piston damage. When the valve timing is off, there is no clearance for the piston and valves.

I would be very concerned as to why the pin broke. That tells me the cam locked up. That only happens when there is a lack of oil to the head.
