So I am working on a buddies focus and the car starts sometimes and wont start other times. When u turn the key with the car in neutral and the clutch to the floor some days the cluster lights up and the car starts with a blip of the key and some days the cluster wont light up and wont crank at alllllll but everything else works such as AC and the windscreen wipers. On the days it do start I have been driving and the cluster will just completely die and shut off but the car will stay running and drivable. Ive checked fuse 69 from what people say passengers will kick it since its under the glove box and can damage it but that's not the case it seems ive read that it could also be a cluster issue itself or a fault in the ignition please helppppp

Yep, this can be the cluster or the ignition switch, I would run the codes to see if any are present which can help guide us to the problem. Here is a video to help do the scan so we don't replace items that don't need it.

CAN SCAN - https://youtu.be/u-4syLc-ifQ

I have seen the BCM go out in these cars which can cause the problem, but also, I would disconnect the battery and remove the electrical connector from the BCM to check for correction which can cause the issue as well. The BCM is on the lower right side of the dash and can get wet to cause the issue. Please upload a short video in your response of the problem, so I can see what's going on. Check out the images (below).

Okay I dont have a fancy scanner to scan the CAN but on the days the car runs and starts there is no codes or check engine light present. Will be ordering the scanner that was recommended in the description of the video u had sent and will follow up with an update soon. Amazon says 3 days on delivery. And what do u mean to "check for correction"?

Yes, when you disconnect the battery and remove the BCM electrical connectors, then use a flashlight if there is a problem you will see corrosion on the terminals inside the connector and on the BCM side as well. Please upload an image or short videos in your response of the problem. That way I can tell for sure.
