The first thing in the morning I went to start my truck to go to work. However, the truck cranked but wouldn't start. Two new lights popped on the dash a check gauges and the battery warning light came on. I plugged in the OBD reader and go the code P0440, which was an EVAP code. I suspected it would be a fuel problem so I replaced the fuel filter and checked on the fuel pump, which was working. After some more research and tests, I replaced this old rotor/cap. This is where something weird happened. The truck started but, it was shaking a little bit and then stalled out. Any attempts to start the truck after failed. I do have spark, the fuel pressure is fine. I thought it might be the fuel injector but I don't have the time nor money to check or fix that right now. I just don't know what would be the next logical step to do.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

If you have the correct fuel pressure and spark, the next thing you need to do is check to see if there is an injector pulse to the injectors. Try this. See if it will start for a couple seconds using starting fluid. If it does, then it's fuel related. So, the injectors need checked to determine if they are getting power. It is easy to check and doesn't take long at all. Take a look through this link. It explains how to check.

Here are a few links to help with the testing process just in case you need them:

Also, here are the fuel pressure specs and a link that explains how to check it:

Pressure
55-60 psi
Open Throttle 66 psi

Try the starting fluid trick. If it starts for a couple seconds, we need to recheck fuel pressure and for an injector pulse.

Let me know.
