The truck will shut off occasionally while driving. The entire electrical system shuts down. No dash lights, interior lights. Nothing. It is as if I turn the key off. Sometimes it will restart immediately, sometimes not. Will not turn over, completely non responsive. Everything comes back on eventually. Relay overheating maybe? Loose wire somewhere? I am at my wits end.

Sounds as if there is a short problem in the electrical's. You can try a wiggle test, that is with the engine running wiggle looms to duplicate engine movement, this may locate the section of the loom that may be damaged. I have used this method with success in the past.
