Here within the past 2 weeks my transmission started whining and hesitates or slips while driving. It does it in reverse and forward gears the check engine light came on and gave the code P0700 it feels like it's stuck between gears. What could cause this and what's the best way to fix it myself?

Good morning,

The only thing you could do at this point without removing it.

As far as the issue, it could be the front pump whining from lack of fluid. That would be caused by a clogged filter in the transmission. I would drop the pan and change the fluid and filter.

The 700 is just a general transmission code. It indicates there are other codes stored.

I changed the filter and fluid and the whining stopped and shifts just like it should now. Thank you for your help. I was so afraid that I was going to need a new transmission.
