Transmission shifts to 1st to 3rd and skip second?

I just got the truck from a cousin of mine he said the trans would shift to 1st to 3rd and skip second but when he took the transmission relay out it shifted to 2nd and not 3rd, does anybody know what I should check or do?

The first thing I would do is run the codes to see if any codes are stored. This guide can help:

I would check the fuses that run the system I have marked the fuses in the transmission wiring diagrams below. Please go over this guide to help you test the fuses:

I did the thing where you turn the key on and off on these 2nd gen’s and it tells you the code when I did that it just said P Done it never read any codes my check engine light never came on or anything but the diagram I don’t know how to read I’m only 16 trying to figure this stuff out.

Sure, on problem, on the first wiring diagram at the top there are two fuses we need to check. Fuse #9 and fuse #14 which are on the left side of the dash. Can you go over the guide to see how to check them? Also, it would be good if we connected a code reader instead of the on off trick with the ignition switch. Please let us know.
