It acted like it did not want to shift past third then it just acts like in neutral and revs. When I let it cool off for a little it goes about thirty feet then back to the problem. The fluid is not black or brown it is a dark red and no metal flakes. What is causing it to overheat? Is it a bad transmission or solenoid? When I had a short behind radio it blew the fuse that was for the dash like speedometer does not work, tachometer, gas etc. Could it be a computer issue? I climbed under it and where the drive shaft hooks to transfer case it is leaking all over it.

Good afternoon.

No, not a fuse or electronic control unless the check engine light is on.

It sounds like a bad seal or drum in the clutch pack for fourth gear.

Have you changed the fluid and filter recently?

Is the check engine light on?
