Transmission has a hard downshift

Getting a hard downshift what causes that?

Hello,

It sounds like you have a pressure regulating solenoid that is not working right. Here it he location so you can replace it. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.

Is that the one down by the shifter inside the transmission?

The pressure regulating solenoid is inside the transmission. Here is a guide to walk you through removing the pan so you can do the job:
