Transmission is stuck in first gear

Car lost power and immediately stopped. Filled with fluid. Probably too much. Car is stuck in fist gear " limp mode" and has reverse only upon start up but not after. Some times loses reverse, but get it back when turned off. Car stuck in first, seems to struggle and starts to make noise but won't go to second. Have to drive slowly but she moves.

Good evening,

This sounds like you damaged the transmission from running out of fluid. It overheated and caused clutch damage internally.

You could try changing the fluid and filter but I do not believe it will help. You will most likely need to either have it rebuilt or replaced.
