Transmission quit while driving

Driving and transmission quit, no warning just, stopped working. Had it towed home. Waited a few days working fine, but don't want to drive very far.

Is the check engine light on?

I would start by changing the fluid and filter. You may have a clogged filter not allowing pressure in the transmission.
