Tranny overheats after 10 minutes of driving. I was toldto get a giage and sensor but idk how that would stop it frpm overheating help please

Well im not a 100 percent sure if its overheating but thats what I was told. The truck runs fine and shifts fine untill it gets to running tempurature and then the problwm starts. You can hit the gas but will barely move but it shifts just fine intil you get up to runnin temp.
