1996 Chevy Truck 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

took a truck to the garage to have transmission fixed they put another one in it, 2 days after getting it back the truck sounds like it has a lower end knock at idle but when you put it in gear and put your foot on the brake the knock seems to go away. Could it be the ring gear

If this is a new noise since getting the new tranny, take it back and have them recheck it. Lower end enginge noise wont dissapear it will get faster and slower with throttle. Which ring gear?

The noise does not fully go away it just gets quieter after you put it in gear, to me it sounds like the fly wheel is cracked or a bolt loose. Could it be possible that could be what it is.I have another guy checking it out.

Like I said, if it is a NEW noise, ther may be a NEW problem, and it can be related to the tranny install.
